• Instructor Introduction

    • Guided by the motto “learn continuously, live generatively” I am a teacher, researcher, and trainer with more than 25 years of experience writing, speaking, and consulting. Internationally experienced, I spent six years educating undergraduates in Dubai before returning to the United States.

Currently a lecturer of marketing in the Wall College of Business at Coastal Carolina University, I develop courses for delivery in person, via blended learning, and online. As the director of the university’s Each One Teach One Entrepreneurship Institute, I inspire innovation mindsets in underrepresented adolescents. I also facilitate corporate training for entrepreneurs, Fortune 500 employees, and government officials.

A charismatic communicator, I have delivered two TEDx talks. In “Moving Forward from Failure,” I presented my perspective about pivoting over obstacles. Through “Inspiring Innovation Mindsets in Underrepresented Adolescents” I shared the strategy and success of Each One Teach One. I am preparing a third talk, “Stepping into the Shoes of a Champion,” about an organization providing 1,000,000 pairs of new shoes to kids in need.

Intersecting humanity, industry, and technology, my research interests include digital marketing, educational technology, entrepreneurship education, the sharing economy, and sports marketing.  My work appears in journal articles, trade publications, books, book chapters, and conference proceedings along with blogs, magazines, and newspapers.

A lifelong learner, I hold a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of California at Santa Barbara and an MBA from Woodbury University. Additionally, I earned a certificate from Stanford University as part of the United Arab Emirates Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Program. I am now evaluating doctoral programs and intend to enroll in the very near future.

When asked why teaching is my tenure I explain, “education empowers me to influence individuals and impact organizations while improving myself in the process.”
